Mike's Scriptures

How did Mike and Josh survive their ordeal, and end up saving many lives?  By following God's Word!  Below are a few of the ideas from the Bible that Mike and Josh live by.

All scriptures are from the Today's New Inernational Version of the Holy Bible, published by the International Bible Society and Zondervan.  Information about the TNIV version can be found at www.tniv.info

Mike Knows Who The Boss Is

Sometimes Mike made bad choices, and had to suffer the consequences.  But even though he didn't like being punished at the time, Mike knew that his mom and dad were helping him grow to become a good person, and that God expects him to honor them.

Mike Learned That God Is Real

It's easy to say that you trust in God, but trust means that you don't worry.  Mike and Jeff were scared many times throughout the story, but each time God saved them.  They learned that God is real, and is always watching out for them.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Mike Learned to Make Good Choices

Mike and Jeff learned a long time ago that doing something they know is wrong is a bad idea.  So they help each other make good choices with their personal motto: There's nothing wrong with doing right!

Genesis 4:7 TNIV

If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.

Psalm 106:3 TNIV

Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right.

Proverbs 21:3 TNIV

To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Romans 12:17 TNIV

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.
