Roland C. Ytreeide was an ordinary man who grew up and served his country through extraordinary times. He was also the father of author Arnold Ytreeide. In this autobiography he writes about growing up on a dustbowl farm in North Dakota during the Great Depression, and fighting through the South Pacific on an aircraft carrier during World War II.  A good introduction for students to biographies and life in the early 20th century, as well as the evolution of photography.
